Well it looks like you can put a fork in it. Chad Strauss told me that they are going to start an Office 365 group sometime around April and that the SharePoint group will be dropped.
Shades of no more SharePoint conferences. There will be SharePoint topics but it won't be SharePoint exclusive.

Necroposting to ask the same question....is the group still active? I've seen nothing but TBD's for the last few months. Not sure if meetings are taking place or not.
